- Inspection agents
Inspection agents
The law allows municipal inspection officers (urban planning, environmental, fire prevention) to visit and examine, without any warrant, at any reasonable time, any property (as well as the interior or exterior of the house), garage, temporary shelter or shed to determine if:
- The latter are in violation of a by-law. For example, in relation to: lawn watering, tree cutting, a septic system, storage, a temporary shelter, etc.
- Work being done is in keeping with a permit or certificate issued by the City.
Important: Inspection agents ALWAYS carry an i.d. card issued by the City for identification purposes and drive a vehicle provided by the municipality. If you have any doubts, simply contact the City!
