Posting and signs

A certificate of authorization must be obtained for installing a sign, as defined below.
Sign: a poster, billboard, writing, pictoral representation, emblem, flag, banner or any other illustration or lighting with similar characteristics that is:
- A construction or part of a construction or any element that is attached to or painted onto a construction or represented in any way on a building or other independent support, including awnings;
- Used to warn, inform, advertize, publicize, promote, draw attention;
- Installed outside of a building or visible from the outside of a building.
Note that posting includes the displaying of and the action of installing and securing a sign. This applies to any type of poster, sign or billboard.
