Journée de l’environnement
Each year, the City offers residents the chance to get free tree seedlings, compost (from their food waste collection efforts), bulk mulch (from branch collection), seeds and small plants.
During this day, residents can also get information and advice from various speakers at the information booths.

Will be distributed:
- Compost
- Mulch
- Milkweed seeds
- Tree seedlings
- Seeds and small plants (strawberry plans and others)
Instructions
Residents must bring:
- Their Saint-Lazare Access Card
- Their containers (bin, trash can) for mulch and compost
- Their shovel to pick up the compost and mulch
- Buckets, bags or newspaper for tree seedlings
Did you know?
The compost distributed is the result of your efforts to sort and participate in the collection of brown bins. Let's take this opportunity to underline its quality!
On-site children activities
Several activities for children will be offered free of charge on site:
- Sunflower seed potting activity
- Fun and educational games on the species protected in our wetlands
- Screening of animated videos featuring Sally, a four-toed salamander
- Contests and draws for promotional items
