Citizen involvement
Citizen participation is the practice of giving a voice to citizens. In practice, it mainly involves a community (region, department or city) that chooses to include the citizens of its territory in its decisions.
Council meetings
The council meeting includes a question period in which the public may participate. Council shall have a by-law, which shall determine the duration, procedure and timing of such question period. The mayor or a designated councillor shall answer the question at a meeting of council and, depending on the nature of the question, may answer it on the spot or at a later meeting.
