I'm a voter
To be an elector, a person must meet the following conditions on polling day, November 2, 2025 :
[1.] be a person;
[2.] be at least 18 years of age;
- In this regard, an elector who will turn 18 on November 2, 2025 may still vote at an advance poll, either on October 24, 2025 at the office of the returning officer or on October 26, 2025.
[3.] be a Canadian citizen;
[4.] not have lost their right to vote due to guardianship;
[5.] not have been convicted of a corrupt electoral practice within the last five years;
[6.] be domiciled on the territory of Ville de Saint-Lazare and, for at least six months, in Quebec or for at least 45 days, be the owner of a building or occupy a place of business located on the territory of Ville de Saint-Lazare.

Legal entities do not vote in municipal elections.
To exercise his or her right to vote, the elector must establish his or her identity by presenting one of the following documents :
[7.] a driver's licence or probationary licence, both issued in plastic form by the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec;
[8.] your health insurance card, issued by the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec;
[9.] Canadian passport;
[10.] Certificate of Indian Status;
[11.] Canadian Forces identification card.
1.2.1 Consulting the list of electors
To vote, a person must be registered on the municipal electoral list.
The electoral list can be consulted during meetings of the Board of Revisors.
The Board of Revisors will be completing its work in mid-October 2025. The dates and times currently planned for the meetings are:
[1.] Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
[2.] Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
These dates and times will be confirmed by public notice. You must refer to said public notice for the final confirmed details. Should there be a discrepancy between the information provided on this portion of the City’s Web site and the public notice, the latter shall prevail.
The Board of Revisors shall hold its meeting in Salle Sainte-Angélique at City Hall, located at the following address:

As part of this election, it will be possible to be submitted to the Review Commission by videoconference or in writing. Further details will be provided in the public notice mentioned above.
The consultation and distribution of the electoral list is strictly controlled in accordance with the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities, RLRQ c. E-2.2, and the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information, RLRQ c. A-2.1.

1.2.2 Modification of the list of electors (corrections, additions and striking off)
Voters must be properly registered on the electoral list in order to exercise their right to vote.
Any person who is not registered on the electoral roll, but who could be, may submit a request for registration to the revision commission.
A request for removal may be submitted by any person:
[1.] who should not be registered on the electoral list;
[2.] wishes not to be registered on the electoral list;
[3.] is registered on the electoral list in connection with the wrong residence, building or business establishment.
Under certain conditions, the request for registration, removal, or correction may also be made by the spouse or a relative of the person who has the right to make it, or by a person who lives with that person.
A public notice will appear in a local newspaper and will also be available on the City’s Web site to inform individuals of when, where and how they can request a change to the electoral list.
The Board of Revisors will meet in Salle Sainte-Angélique at Town Hall on October 14 and 16, 2025.
1.3.1 When to vote
You can vote:
On Election Day, Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (without interruption)
- Subject to change, the polling stations will be established at the "Quartier des sports" located at 1850, rue des Loisirs.
At advance poll, on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (without interruption)
- Polling stations will be set up at the Community Center located at 1301, rue Du Bois.
- Limited electoral staff could result in longer wait times.
- One polling station per district.
- The election management team strongly advises individuals with reduced mobility to vote at advance polls.
At advance poll, on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (without interruption)
- Polling stations will be set up at the "Salle Sainte-Angélique" located at City Hall on 1960, chemin Sainte-Angélique.
- Limited electoral staff could result in longer wait times.
- The districts will be consolidated. Fewer polling stations will be available than during early voting on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

1.3.3 How to vote (documents to bring to the polling station)
Voters must be registered on the electoral list. They must also establish their identity prior to exercising their right to vote by presenting one of the following documents:
- Driver’s licence or learner’s permit, both of which are issued in plastic form by the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec;
- Health insurance card, issued by the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec;
- Canadian passport;
- Certificate of Indian status;
- Canadian Forces ID Card.

The Town of Saint-Lazare does not provide information on candidates other than their names. The latter are therefore responsible for promoting themselves as candidates and informing voters of their election platforms.

The public notice of election, which is the first step in the electoral process, is usually issued in early September 2025.

The electoral districts have been revised since the 2021 election in accordance with the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities, RLRQ c. E‑2.2. Voting at the election president's office is only available on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Voting at the home is exclusively available to voters in the Town of Saint-Lazare who are unable to travel for health reasons, in accordance with the conditions set out in the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities, RLRQ c. E-2.2.
Voting by mail are not available for the 2025 general election.
The division of the Town of Saint-Lazare’s territory for the purposes of the 2025 general election was reviewed in accordance with the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities, RLRQ c. E-2.2. However, only districts 2, 3, and 4 were affected by this revision. You can consult regulation number 1170: https://www.ville.saint-lazare.qc.ca/fr/la-ville/reglements-municipaux
In the “Municipal Maps” section of the City of Saint-Lazare website https://www.ville.saint-lazare.qc.ca/fr/la-ville/cartes-municipales, be sure to consult the 2025-2029 version for electoral districts. The old map is available for comparison purposes and because it is currently applicable.
You can find your district number directly on the map. It will also be listed on the reminder notice that will be mailed to you before the election. Unless there is an uncontested election, voters fill out two ballots: one for the position of councilor in their district and one for the position of mayor.
