Avenue Bédard gets a makeover for summer 2023
Avenue Bédard between Chemin Sainte-Élisabeth and Chemin
Saint-Louis
Monday, May 29 to Friday, June 2, 2023
Avenue Bédard will be getting a makeover in the summer of 2023, but to do so, work is currently underway between the bike path and Avenue Bédard, and will continue throughout this week.
Over the next few days, you'll see our municipal teams digging and installing a honeycomb membrane. The installation of this membrane will, among other things, prevent the road from collapsing when heavy trucks pass over it. This is a new technology used by the City known as Geocells.
The work will entail detours for users of the bike path, but no impact is expected for cars. The detours will be put in place each morning as the work progresses.
Once the work is completed, Avenue Bédard will be resurfaced. However, we will wait until the end of the school year to take advantage of the lower traffic volumes.
Don't worry, as soon as the paving is complete, our beautiful landscaping will be back.

The work could be extended or postponed if weather conditions are unfavorable.
Thank you for your understanding and for slowing down in the vicinity of the work areas to protect the lives of the workers.
