A Unifying Project to Celebrate Diversity

Last June, Ville de Saint-Lazare was proud to announce the launch of the À la découverte des racines du monde project, made possible with the financial support of the Fonds de développement des communautés (FDC) de la MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges.

Initiated by the Comité consultatif culturel and the Comité consultatif de développement social et communautaire, the project consists of a series of four (4) cultural discovery activities planned for 2024 and 2025. Each one will offer a unique immersion in a different culture, allowing participants to discover new flavors, music, arts and traditional customs.

The first event, held on November 10 at the Community Centre, was a resounding success. Nearly 200 people took part in a celebration of the cultural traditions of the South Asian community. Visitors had the chance to taste traditional dishes, enjoy music and dance performances, and discover Tamil art.

The next event, to be held on Saturday, February 22 between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m., will honour the Irish community. See you at the Community Centre, dressed in your nicest green clothes!
