Come discover this magnifcient site in the heart of La Pinière Park, a forest renowned for its pine plantation, recreational trails and natural beauty.

Free winter activities are available to Saint-Lazare residents: Simply present your Resident I.D. Card!

• Cross-country skiing: over 20 km of trails to explore for both classic and skate-style cross-country skiing for everyone, from beginners to advanced skiers.
• Tubing
• Snowshoeing: over 4 km of trails to explore
• Skating: oval rink
* Equipment rental available Sunday, Monday, Friday and Saturday for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
* The trails are not lit: headlamp recommended.

NEW for 2018-2019: Wednesday and Friday: snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and ice rink open in the evening! Headlamp recommended.

Groups

The nature park is the perfect place for a get-together with friends or family. School groups, businesses, etc., are also welcome.

Tarification

There are no trails accessible to hikers during the winter season. We will advise the opening of the trails on this website. At no time fatbikes are permitted on the site nor the trails.

The reception chalet is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Adapted equipment

Adapted equipment to ease movement for people with reduced mobility and help handicaped people engage in activities.

Winter

  • 2 all-terrain, big-wheeled wheelchairs for visitors who wish to walk in the nature park;
  • skates (ski-vel) for wheelchairs;
  • additional training supports for learning how to ice skate.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING LESSONS


Ski de fond Sud-Ouest’s philosophy is to offer adapted programs and professional support with instructors trained in the feld. In addition to this, the organization’s activities are steadfastly focused on human development. With a view to providing services of the highest standard, Ski de fond Sud-Ouest draws upon the criteria of the technical program established by Ski de fond Québec. The programs offered are supervised by the head coach who is a kinesiologist by training.

Group lessons
Cross-country skiing lessons are offered in collaboration with Ski de fond Sud-Ouest. Students will have their skills assessed during the first lesson to ensure they are placed in the proper level. Note that the final schedule will be confrmed once the registration period is over.

End of registraton period: December 27, 2018
Students renting equipment must come to Parc nature Les Forestiers-de-Saint-Lazare on December 29, between 9 a.m. and noon for measurements.

Bunny Rabbit - Ages 3 to 5
Prerequisite: Be at least 3 years old. No crosscountry skiing experience required. Child must be able to stand on skis.

This program is intended for children ages 3 to 5 who are in the “active start” stage of development. It is the first level in Cross Country Canada’s skill development program and was created in parallel with the NCCP’s first level of training, designed to meet the needs of skiers at this particular stage of development.

The program material includes an age-friendly booklet and skill award stckers. This program aims to
introduce children to cross-country skiing and the healthy lifestyle associated with it through organized
actvites and actve play.

Jack Rabbit level 1 to 3 - 6 years old and + 
The Jack Rabbit program is designed for children ages 6 years old and over in the FUNdamentals stage of development. This is the second level of Cross Country Canada’s skill development program and was developed in parallel with the second level of competency-based NCCP, which is designed to meet the needs of skiers at this stage of development.

The objective of the program is to teach young skiers the basics of cross-country skiing (both classic
and skate style) and make them aware of the importance of making sporting activity a part of their daily lives in order to improve their health and quality of life.

Prerequisites :
Jack Rabbit LEVEL 1 :
• Know how to fall and get back up;
• Know how to walk with skis on;
• Or Bunny rabbit.

Recreational Master – Advanced
This program is designed for classic style skiers who have already been introduced to the sport or have been practicing the sport for some time. The objectve of the program is to practice more advanced techniques and keep improving the classic style of skiing.

NEW:
Recreational Master – training (2 days a week)
This program provides preparatory and technical cross-country ski training for adults in both classic style AND skate style. These sessions are supervised in order to ensure they are structured as well as enjoyable!

Sundays from 9 to 10 a.m. from January 6 to February 24, 2019 as well as Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m., from January 9 to February 27, 2019
