Photography exhibition: Capture ton patrimoine
Unveiling on Thursday, February 6th, 2020, 7 p.m.
Library (1275 Rue du Bois)
Free - no reservation required

In fall 2017, the students from the Visual Arts component of the Art-Study group at Chêne-Bleu high school got the opportunity to take part in a project that combined architecture, heritage and photography—Capture ton patrimoine—made possible thanks to a cultural development agreement between the Ministère de la culture et des communications du Québec and the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC.

The students received training on both land use planning and heritage as well as an introduction to photography.

Accompanied by Édith Prégent, a heritage specialist from Musée régional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges and Ms. Charland, photographer, the group then toured the VaudreuilSoulanges territory, snapping pictures in each of its 23 municipalities.

The exhibition on display is a grouping of the best photos captured in each of Vaudreuil-Soulanges’s municipalities and is the culmination of this incredibly rewarding project.

This exhibition is made possible thanks to the financial support of the Conseil des arts et de la culture de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, through its tour program.

This collective of visual artists referred to as Le Mouvement d’Expression Artistique Libre—formerly Les Amis du Pinceau—is a non-profit organization established in 1986, operating in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges area.

At the time of its creation, the group primarily focused on the mediums of oil and watercolour. Having since expanded its horizons, the group now welcomes multidisciplinary artists including sculptors and photographers. The Saint-Lazare population is invited to come meet the artists during the unveiling of their exhibition at the Library on March 6 at 7 p.m. This exhibition will continue until March 27 and can be visited during the Library’s opening hours.
