Use a rain barrel!

Have you ever thought of watering your grounds and flower beds without wasting drinking water?
There is an easy way: use a rain barrel!

Everybody agrees that drinking water is a precious resource. Moreover in the summer, when 75% of the municipal drinking water produced is used to water lawns and landscaping.

A rain barrel is a simple and efficient way of optimizing the use of water!

Refund for the purchase or the construction of rain barrels

Residents may be eligible for a refund of up to $50 of the purchase or the construction of a rain barrel. This programme allows residents to choose the model that they like best, at a time convenient for them and in a store of their own choosing.

This program is also intended for eligible establishments such as public or private daycare centres and schools located on the Saint-Lazare territory.

Refund process

The applicant must fill an online request.

Step 2, in the Complaint Detail section, in Request Category, choose Housing, urban planning and environment. Type of request will be : Rainwater Barrel (refund).

Step 3, please attach the original invoice and a photograph of the device duly installed and operational at the address for which a refund is requested.

The applicant must complete and submit the request form within 12 months of purchasing the barrel or the materials for its construction.

Distribution of water barrels and composting bins

Barrels are awarded by drawing lots, at a modest cost of $30, thanks to Fonds Éco Iga.

Details for the 2019 campaign will be released at the beginning of Spring 2019.
