Pyrotechnic items (fireworks) Français
SAINT-LAZARE (Québec), July 25, 2011

The Sûreté du Québec and Saint-Lazare’s fire department would like to remind Saint-Lazare residents that it is forbidden to use any pyrotechnic item on Saint-Lazare’s territory without having previously obtained a permit. Although it is legal for your local dépanneur to sell fireworks and for you to purchase some, it isn’t necessary legal to use them and numerous towns legislate them for fire safety reasons. It is the case for Saint-Lazare where it is mandatory to obtain a permit prior to launching any firework. An official request must be submitted to Saint-Lazare’s fire department at least fifteen (15) days before the day you plan on using fireworks.

We wish to remind residents that Saint-Lazare is especially vulnerable to forest fires since 70% of its territory is covered with forest.

To find out what conditions you need to meet to obtain a permit contact Saint-Lazare’s Fire Prevention Captain, Martin Tanguay, at 450-424-8000, ext. 207 or view the information available on the Town’s website at ville.saint-Lazare.qc.ca.
