SAINT-LAZARE,Québec, October 3, 2011
On Sunday, October 2, 2011, Mayor Pierre Kary celebrated the purchase of the three pieces of land
soon to be added to La Pinière in the company of Ms. Anne Bourel,
vice-president of the Randonneurs associés, and Mr. Yves Venditti,
president of the Equestrian Club.
The Town of Saint-Lazare recently invested $625,000 in the expansion of
the La Pinière park. The addition of these three lots will increase by a
third its total surface area. La Pinière will now have a surface area of
205 hectares or 80 additional hectares that all Saint-Lazare residents can enjoy.
La Pinière is a conservation area where our region’s flora and fauna
will flourish; therefore, this purchase represents an investment in the
future of our town. Furthermore, all residents will be able to enjoy La
Pinière’s many recreational trails designed for walking, horseback
riding, quad riding and cross country skiing.
“We must protect our Town with the creation of green common spaces such
as La Pinière so that all our residents can enjoy their favourite
leisure activity in a green and sustainable environment. La Pinière is
our region’s green lung”, said Mayor Pierre Kary enthusiastically.
Located on Chemin Lotbinière, La Pinière has several walking and
horseback riding trails. La Pinière is able to maintain in the long term
the biological diversity and natural processes and this is what makes it
our region’s green lung.
