Community Patrol

A community patrol project is in force in Saint-Lazare. The goal is to ensure the quality of life and tranquility of Saint-Lazare residents. The community patrol provides safe access to public places, parks, playgrounds and public buildings and patrols our streets, bike paths and all other locations frequented by residents. The community patrol therefore helps the Sûreté du Québec in its efforts to reduce crime and vandalism which could occur on the town’s territory. The patrol guards is working in cooperation with the Town’s Public Safety and Fire Department.

The community patrol has the mandate to enforce certain municipal by-laws, particularly those relating to nuisances and parking, and to issue offence notices.

The patrol guards wears a uniform and their vehicles are well identified.

For additional information on the community patrol, please contact the Public Safety and Fire Department at 450 424-8000, extension 208.

Horse Patrol

The Town authorizes Sûreté Cavalerie inc. to provide the services of a horse patrol which will accompany the volunteers of the Club équestre Les Forestiers in their work patrolling the trails. As such, they are authorized to issue, on the Town’s behalf, a notice of offence to any person found in violation of by-law 637 respecting the use of parks.

The cost for the services of Sûreté Cavalerie inc. will be covered by the Club équestre Les Forestiers.
