A community patrol project is still in force in Saint-Lazare. The goal is to ensure the quality of life and tranquility of Saint-Lazare residents. The community patrol will provide safe access to public places, parks, playgrounds and public buildings and will patrol our streets, bike paths and all other locations frequented by residents. The community patrol will therefore help the Sûreté du Québec in its efforts to reduce crime and vandalism which could occur on the town’s territory. The patrol guards will be working in cooperation with the Town’s Public Safety and Fire Department.
The community patrol will have the mandate to enforce certain municipal by-laws, particularly those relating to nuisances and parking, and to issue offence notices.
The patrol guards will wear a uniform and their vehicles will be well identified.
