Contest: The brown bin: let's adopt it!

Take part in The brown bin: Let’s adopt it! photo contest

To mark the arrival of the brown bin in Saint-Lazare between March 11 and April 30, 2019, the City is launching a contest called The brown bin: let’s adopt it!.

You could win the opportunity to be the ambassador(s) of Saint-Lazare’s brown bin, appear on the posters displayed at the Town entrance and win a gift bag filled with eco-friendly goodies worth over $50 or one of 4 participation prizes including a gift bag filled with $20 worth of promotional items that will help you reduce waste!

To participate, fill out the online form no later than Sunday, March 10, 2019 at midnight at https://ville.saint-lazare.qc.ca/en/onladopte and make sure to include picture(s) of yourself taking part in one of the Town’s activities and featuring the brown bin (maximum 5 pictures per participating address).

Look for the brown bin when you take part in any of the events organized by the Town of Saint-Lazare between February 10 and March 10, 2019, and unleash your creativity as you snap a few pictures. Start looking for the brown bin as soon as this Sunday, February 10, 2019, during the Snow fest, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., to take part in the photo contest !

Pie Contest

Yesterday, the Town of Saint-Lazare and of Les Cèdres found out who makes the best pie in both town. The two finalists from Saint-Lazare were Josée Benjamin and André Charette. The only finalist from Les Cèdres and winner was Annie Booth. The jury was composed of : Raymond Larouche, mayor of Les Cèdres, Karine Tessier, counselor of Les Cèdres, Brigitte Asselin, conselor of Saint-Lazare, and Thierry Juvien, Farmers market organizer and a pastry cook!

«The choice was not easy! The three finalists, who where all, I’ll have to admit, very good cook. Thanks to everyone for you great participation. We have found a real cordon bleu! «The caramel-banana pie of Mrs Annie Booth was a real delight! » declare the judges.

She won a gift basket with products from the Farmers market, worth $300.

Congratulations to Mrs Denise Stilmann and her daughter Catalina Ruiz and her son Mathias Ruiz 

Ville de Saint-Lazare find out the best pie in town in the company of the judges: Michel Lambert, District 4 councillor and Thierry Juvien, Farmers market organizer and a pastry cook!

Video Contest: on our way to one bin 2012

In the fall of 2012, Saint-Lazare launched a video contest entitled "On our way to one bin"! The objective of the contest was to raise awareness and to announce the transition to one bin starting january 2013.

Residents were asked to submit a video showing good practices to reduce waste at home.
