Access the library catalogue, consult your personal file, obtain ebooks, reserve a document, suggest a purchase, etc.

To obtain a user name, you must visit the library.

Getting Started Guide - eBooks - COVID


Access the library catalogue to view your personal file, borrow eBooks (digital books), make a reservation, suggest a purchase, etc.

*During the confinement period, please send an email to the following address in order to activate your online file: tdambrosio@ville.saint-lazare.qc.ca.

**Please note that additional instructions will be provided to you once your file is activated and you receive your password.

Getting started with eBooks

1)      Call to have your online account activated. The library clerk will provide you with a temporary password for your online file. (See up * and **)

2)      Once you log onto the library catalogue ( http:/st-lazare.c4di.qc.ca/ ), click on Personal File in the menu at the top of the screen, then select Log on from the dropdown menu and enter your personal information. Your PIN is the number on your Resident ID Card and your password is the one provided by the library when you activated your file. 

3)      Access your personal file.  

4)      EBooks in French

4.1   To begin, click on Guides de démarrage located at the bottom left of the Home page (note that you can click on Home page anytime to refresh the screen).

4.2   Once on the set-up page, select the type of device you are using. Then, simply follow the instructions on the screen in order to install the correct software or application on your reader, tablet or computer.  

4.3   Once the platform is installed, you are ready to choose and/or reserve your eBooks!  

4.4   Go back to the Home page of the library catalogue. On the left-hand side of the page, click on eBooks, then All eBooks. Select a book among the different titles and click on Download (located above the book image) when you are ready to borrow the book. Happy reading!

5)      EBooks in English

5.1   In the menu on the left-hand side, click on Overdrive. You will then be re-directed to the Saint-Lazare section of the Overdrive Web site.

5.2   Enter your username and password. These are the same as the ones you use for your personal file.  

5.3   Once you access the site, click on Help in the upper right-hand corner.  

5.4   Go through each of the tabs at the top of the Help page to ensure that you install the correct software or application on your reader, tablet or computer.

5.5   Once the platform is installed, you are ready to choose and/or reserve your eBooks right from the Overdrive platform. Happy reading!  

Getting Started Guide - eBooks

  1. Present your resident ID card to the staff at the library’s circulation desk and be ready to provide the clerk with your e-mail address to activate your account. The clerk will give you a temporary password for your on-line personal file.
  2. Access your personal file.
  3. Change the library’s search page to English by clicking on the button marked English located at the top right of the page. Then, click on personal info in the left sidebar and enter your log-in information. Your Identification is the number appearing on your resident ID card.
  4. French eBooks
    1. First, click on the Help button located in the upper right-hand corner of the active window.  
    2. Once on the Help page, select the type of device you are using. Then follow the on-screen instructions to install the appropriate software or application for your e-reader, your tablet or even your computer.
    3. Once this software has been installed, you will be ready to borrow and reserve eBooks!
    4. Return to the library’s catalogue search page and click on available eBooks. Click on the book you wish to borrow and then click on the link called Télécharger le document to borrow the French eBook. Happy reading!
  5. English eBooks
    1. At the bottom of the menu on the left-hand side of the screen you will see an image with the words Enjoy eBooks – Overdrive written on it. Click on this image to be automatically redirected to the Saint-Lazare Library’s collection of English eBooks on the Overdrive website.
    2. Please note that the username and password you will be asked to provide on this website are the same ones you use for your personal file.
    3. Once you are on Overdrive’s website, click on the Help button located at the top right of the webpage.
    4. Browse the various help section links to learn how to install the appropriate software or application for your e-reader, tablet or computer.  You can also learn how to navigate and use the Overdrive website to borrow or reserve eBooks.
    5. Once the appropriate software is installed, you will be ready to borrow or reserve eBooks directly from the Overdrive website. Happy reading!
