Notice of non-compliance - Leaf collection To participate in a collection, residents must comply with the conditions of participation.
Notices of non-compliance are distributed.
Here are some of the reasons why your bags might not have been picked up:
  • Leaves bagged in plastic bags
  • Bag (s) too heavy (more than 22.5 kg / 50 lb)
  • Bag (s) torn
  • Bag (s) containing one or more of the following residues:
    • Branches
    • Bricks
    • Gravel
    • Crushed stones
    • Sand
    • Stumps
    • Soil
    • Any other waste (plastic, strings, etc.)
Reminder of the instructions to follow:
  • Only the following green residues are accepted: leaves, pine needles and cones, garden or indoor plants, hedge cuttings without branches
  • Only compostable paper bags can be used
  • The weight of each bag should not exceed 22.5 kg / 50 lbs
  • Bags should not be torn
We rely on your cooperation to respect accepted materials and participation guidelines.

Important reminders
  • Farmers value your leaves, it’s not up to them to sort your waste!
  • Employees collecting your bags must lift thousands of bags at each collection – respect the weight
  • The City provides financial assistance to purchase mulching blades, and push lawn mowers and backyard composters, – find out more.
