Équipements adaptés et accès aux aidants

Adapted equipment to ease movement for people with reduced mobility and help handicaped people engage in activities are available at Parc nature les Forestiers-de-Saint-Lazare, free of charge. You must reserve them in advance (floatation jackets) or have them installed (lift and ramp). An ID will be required as a deposit.

Free for care givers aged 14 years old and up


Adapted floating vests:

§  18-30 pounds

§  30-40 pounds

§  40-90 pounds

§  90-190 pounds 

Lift to access the pool (maximum 400 pounds)

Progressive access ramp to the pool 

Picnic table adapted for wheelchairs

Trails and travelling  

Hippocampus chair for the trails

Big wheels chair with umbrella (max 250 pounds) 

Children and adult wheelchairs 

Ski-Vel for snow (skis to adapt a wheelchair for the snow)

The R1 trail is designed for people with reduced mobility and has many benches. 

Day camp (children aged 5 to 12 y.o.)

Program of facilitaded access for children with disabilities.

Accessible dry toilets

From April to the end of October, the Recreation and Community Life Department installs outdoor accessible dry toilets in the following parks:

§  Parc Frontenac

§  Parc Brazeau
§  Parc Bédard
§  Parc Cedarbrook
§  Parc Westwood 1
§  Parc Westwood 2
§  Parc Saddlebrook
§  Parc Saint-Robert
§  Parc Nature

As well as on the sites of municipal activities and events (example: Cyclo-Tour, Saint-Jean-Baptiste and Canada Day celebrations, Saint-Laz'ARTS shows, etc.)

Transport during emergency measures

During periods of extreme heat or cold, the Fire Safety and Public Security Department is able to offer transportation to vulnerable people, going to the community centre, the Sainte-Angélique Hall or the pool.
