Service de sécurité incendie Awareness campaigns Français
SAINT-LAZARE (Québec) – April 23, 2007

The Saint-Lazare Service de sécurité incendie would like to remind its citizens that it’s main mission is to protect life and property against fires. Prevention awareness campaigns are also an essential part of their job. Starting this summer of 2007, firefighters will be zooming in on two major aspects of fire prevention:

 · Fire hydrants and the importance of respecting the minimum clearance around and in front to provide free access for their maintenance and use; and
 · Smoke detectors which should be present and functional in every home.

In each case, during these awareness campaigns, owners will be reminded of the importance to pay special attention to these protection devices and will have to bring any changes requested by the fire department to comply with the municipal by-law.

You have questions or concerns contact the Service de sécurité incendie at 450 424-1114.
